　　Xu Beihong was born in Yixing, Jiangsu Province in 1895.

　　He began to learn how to paint from his father when he was young. Then he went to several countries to study art. After he finished his studies, he returned to China. During his lifetime, he said that some Western artistic techniques should be applied to Chinese paintings. He was one of the most important artists in China. He was very famous for his work, Racing Horse. It was unlucky that the great artist lost his life at the age of 58 in 1953.
