1、定义：

表示在过去某一时刻或某一时间段正在进行的动作。

2、构成：

1)肯定句：was/were+v.-ing

I was sleeping at teno’clock last night.

昨晚十点我正在睡觉。

2)否定句：was/were not+v.-ing

I was not sleeping at ten o’clock last night.

3)疑问式：Was/Were+主语+v.-ing……?

Were you sleeping at ten o’clock last night?

Yes,Iwas./No,I wasn’t.

3、时间标志词：

then,at this/that time yesterday,at 8:00 yesterday morning,all night以及when/while从句等。

例句：

When it began to rain,Ben was helping his mom make dinner.
