宾语从句的构成

●陈述语序下：主语+谓语+引导词+从句。

●宾语从句的引导词有：that、who、whom、whose、what、which、when、where、why、how、whether、if等。

用that引导宾语从句

由从属连词that引导的宾语从句表示陈述、引用等意义时，that常可省略，尤其是在口语中。

(that)

e.g. I knowthe team is doing well. 我知道这支队伍做得很好。

但在有些动词后面，that通常不可省略，如accept、add、answer、appreciate、dream、explain、repeat、reply、report、show、teach、write等。

appreciate that

e.g. Iyou want to help. 我很感谢你愿意帮忙。

介词后面不能跟that引导的宾语从句。

writes about

e.g. The teacherthe student’s good behavior. 老师记下了学生的良好表现。

writes that

e.g. The teacherthe student is behaving well. 老师记下了学生表现得很好。

用whether/if引导宾语从句

从属连词whether和if引导宾语从句时意为“是否”，常与之搭配的单词和短语包括agree、ask、decide、doubt、find out、guess、know、learn、say、see、tell、understand、want to know、wonder等。

引导宾语从句时，一般情况下两者含义差别不大，可以互换。不过，whether更常用于正式书面语中。

强调任意选择时，使用whether…or…，不使用if。

whether

e.g. He asked meI wanted to go thereby trainby bus. 他问我是想坐火车还是公交车去那里。

介词后面使用whether，不使用if。

on whether

e.g.Itdependsit will be fine tomorrow. 这取决于明天它是否会变好。

带to的不定式前面使用whether，不使用if。

whether to

e.g. He doesn’t knowstay or not. 他不知道要不要继续待下去。

whether or not是固定搭配，但如果or not在从句句尾，则whether和if可以互换。

whether or not

e.g. She wants to knowit’s safe. 她想知道这是否安全。

whether/if

e.g. She wants to knowit’s safe. 她想知道这是否安全。

宾语从句的时态呼应

e.g. Shethat shefrom Monday to Friday. 她说她周一到周五工作。

will

e.g. Itell him that Imy sister to leave this factory. 我会告诉他我已要求我姐姐离开这个工厂。

said

e.g. Nancythat shetake care of the baby. 南希说她来照顾宝宝。

*从句时态的一般变化规律如下：

从句中的情态动词must、should、ought to可以保持时态不变，而can、may、will、have to则需要相应变化为could、might、would和had to

●。

insisted

e.g. Hethat weturn the computer off. 他坚持我们应该把电脑关上。

was told

e.g. The childthat shego on holiday that month. 孩子被告知这个月她可以去度假。

如果宾语从句表述的是客观事实或者普遍真理，从句不受主句时态的影响，仍使用一般现在时。
