初中英语语法知识讲解∶一般过去时

一、定义

一般过去时是表示过去经常或偶然发生的动作或存在的状态。

二、用法

① 在确定的过去时间里所发生的动作或存在的状态。

时间状语有∶just now;yesterday; last week; an hour ago; the other day; in 1982 等。Where did you go just now?She wasn't at home last night.

② 表示在过去一段时间内，经常性或习惯性的动作。

When I was a child, I often played football in the street.

Whenever the Browns went during their visit, they were given a warm welcome.

三、结构1.肯定形式① be动词was / were …

② 行为动词动词的过去式(动词过去式分规则变化与不规则变化)如 He was a teacher 3 years ago.

Jenny visited Shanghai last month. I went to school at 6:30 yesterday.

规则动词的过去式的构成遵循以下四个规则∶

a.直接在动词后加ed，例如help-helpedwant-wanted等

b.以不发音的字母e结尾时，去掉e加ed(即直接加d)，例如like-liked;use-used等

c. 以辅音字母y结尾时，把y变成i再加ed，例如carry-carried; study-studied等;

d.以重读闭音节结尾，双写最后一个辅音字母再加ed，例如∶stop-stopped;shop-shopped等。不规则动词的过去式则需要特殊记，例如go-wentcome-came;buy-bought等。

2.否定形式

① was/ were + not

② didn't +动词原形

如∶ He wasn't a teacher 3 years ago.

① was 或were放于句首② Did + … + 动词原形……如Was he a teacher 3 years ago Yes, he was. / No, he wasn't.

Did Jenny visit Shanghai last month?Yes, she did. / No, she didn't.
