　　Atherosclerotic vascular disease is manifested as a progressive narrowing of the vessel wall.

　　manifest这个单词可以作及物动词、不及物动词，也可以是形容词，但在上句中一般用作不及物动词，所以应该使用主动语态：

　　Atherosclerotic vascular disease manifests as a progressive narrowing of the vessel wall.
