　　搭配错误

　　英语介词短语的搭配通常都是固定的，不能随意变动，但很多人经常将相近的介词短语混淆，由此带来了很多搭配问题，比如：

　　(*) Recycling is a good way to manage waste despite of its cost.

　　(*) In accordance to your request, I am sending a copy of my book.

　　(*) The second hotel was far superior than the first one.

　　上面这三个句子都有介词搭配问题。第一个句子是将despite something与in spite of something这两个用法混淆了，正确的写法应该是：Recycling is a good way to manage waste despite its cost. 或者 Recycling is a good way to manage waste in spite of its cost .

　　第二个句子是将in accordance with与according to混淆，正确的写法应该是：In accordance with your request, I am sending a copy of my book.

　　第三个句子则是将be superior to与作比较时的be better than混淆，因此，正确的写法是：The second hotel was far superior to the first one.

　　同时，不少人在使用介词时喜欢“类推”，即用已经掌握的介词使用规则去推测新的用法，虽然这种方法在大部分情况下能奏效，但有时候会出错。比如你可能会根据 I went to China when I was 15. 推导出 I went to there two years ago. 但正确说法应该是：I went there two years ago.
