中考英语知识点：表示“在......下面”

　　*①below表示“在......下面”时，指处于比某物低的位置，不一定在某物的正下方。它在的反义词是above。如：Write your name below the line.

　　We are below the moon.

　　②below还常用来指数量、价值、程度等“低于......，在......以下”。如：

　　The number is below ten.

　　He is below twenty years old.

　　*①under表示“在......下面”的意思时，有时可与below通用，但它指处于某物的正下方，其反义词是over。如：He stood under a tree.

　　The cat was under the table.

　　②表示数量、年龄、程度时，under可与below互换，但在表示人的关系时，below表示级别“低于......”，under表示“在......领导、管辖之下”。如：I placed under him.

　　He is next in rank below the mayor.
