1.集体名词谓语动词用复数，强调每个成员时要用单数。
2.普通名词构成的专有名词(除冠词外要大写)前要加the，例如：the Great Wall , the United States.
3.物质名词不可数。例如：cotton , water , air , juice.
4.书刊、报刊名作主语，谓语动词用单数。
5.部分既可作可数又可作不可数的情况如下表：

注：两条鱼为two fish
6.manners clothes通常以复数形式出现
7.Chinese Japanese sheep deer means（方法）单复数同形
8.除拼音外（yuan、jin）度量衡单位（dollar）可数
9.黑人英雄爱吃土豆番茄。（negro、hero、potato、tomato+es）（有生命的+es，没生命的加s）
10.以f结尾单词复数形式的几个特例 roof chief safe（保险箱） belief 直接加s
11.huge amounts of ， a great deal of 修饰不可数名词，谓语动词用单数
a large\great number of = great many修饰可数，谓语动词用复数
A lot of\lots of 可数不可数通用 谓语动词视情况而定
12.Mary and John 's 两人共有 Mary 's and John 's 两人各有（注意此时的谓语动词单复数的使用）
13.a man nurse → some men nurses 全部变复数，但是 a girl\boy student → some girl\boy students
14.news 不可数 newspaper 可数
15.service decoration可数
16.He study harder than any other student（用单数） in his class.(any other +名词单数)
His bag is nicer than the other students' in his class. 注意看主语
17.food不可数 vegetable 可数
