Point to the resolutions and ask different students to explain in their own words what each one means. They can give an example or say a sentence or two showing what the phrase means. To explain learn to play an instrument, a student might say, I'm going to learn to play the piano. I'm going to take piano lessons. To illustrate get a part-time job, a student might say, I'm going to get a part-time job after school. Then I will have money to buy a new bicycle. If students can't explain a phrase, give sentences of your own.
Then read the instructions. Point out the box next to each picture where students can write in the number of the phrase that matches that picture. Point out the sample answer.
